In 2022, this building was restored, preserving as much of its historical materials and architecture as possible. It is now used as the secretariat building of the Clan Boundary Town Preservation Society. The walls have become a photo gallery depicting the town's history and domain boundaries. Tools and other items necessary for making Enokizu tansu (chests of drawers), which were made in Enozuki, the birthplace of woodworking in Japan, are also on display. Maps of the town and other materials are also available. The museum opens on an irregular schedule, so call in advance before you visit.
This 140-year-old merchant house was built around the mid-Meiji period (late 19th to early 20th century) and reconstructed in 2022. In the back of the tatami room, you can see the artisans's various skills, such as using old columns with root joints. The once-used hearth gate remains in the courtyard and is used for events.
