Established in 1876, this restaurant/inn has a history of more than 140 years. The restaurant offers local cuisine that makes the most of the rich, natural bounties of the Ariake Sea and Chikugo River and other seasonal ingredients throughout the year, including wild eel from July to November, grenadier anchovy from May to late July, and river anglerfish from July to December, all directly sourced from the fishermen. The kaiseki course meal, the kumikozen, a stacked box decorated with Ōkawa's traditional wooden lattice, and the Ōkawa kaguzen, served in a drawer-style box, are unique to this restaurant! All meals must be reserved. There is also an inn where you can stay overnight after a relaxing meal, and plans that include overnight stays with your meal are available. The main building is under construction scheduled to finish in early October 2024. It will be a two-story wooden structure that retains the atmosphere of the old days (currently, guests can stay in the new building). We are sure you’ll enjoy this one as well.
