The family has been a pottery wholesaler for generations since the 19th century. And their store is called "Kanechi". The storehouse, which is open to visitors who apply in advance, is filled with Japanese-style antique tableware and ceramics, and visitors can also see items that are rare today, such as school bags made of bamboo and large arithmetic boards. Next to the entrance and under the stairs is a space with a retro atmosphere. The retro Showa-era atmosphere will make you feel like you have stepped back in time.
Upon entering the building from the exterior, which at first glance appears to be an old warehouse, one finds an old-fashioned ceiling with beveled pillars in every other room, the only part of the building that retains much of its original appearance. The second floor has a boat-bottomed ceiling in all rooms, and traces of latticework can be seen on the front, indicating that the window surfaces were once filled with latticework.
